Your pet’s lifestyle may determine what diseases he/she is exposed to and should be vaccinated against. Let us discuss these options with you and determine exactly what is best for your furry friend.
We consider all of our patients seniors at 7 years of age. Although we do not like to think about it, our pets age much faster than we do. For this reason, we strongly recommend certain diagnostics for senior pets. If we can catch warnings of a disease process before your pet starts showing signs, treatment may be much easier for you and your pet.
We offer surgery and/or chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients in addition to hospice treatment. We also have professionals that may be able to address any concerns you may have with a pet just diagnosed with cancer. Ask us how we can help you through a cancer treatment plan.
Prevention is the best medicine – We routinely perform and recommend the following wellness regimens: Annual Physical Examination, Vaccinations, Fecal Parasite Screening, Deworming, Heartworm Testing, Heartworm Preventative, Flea and Tick Preventative, Microchipping, Nutritional Consultation, Body Condition Score, Dental Grading, and Client Education. (See forms page for the appropriate New Client paperwork.)
Our complete on site laboratory offers the convenience of performing basic or emergency diagnostics with a fast turn around time. Our dependable reference lab offers more diversity and gives us the ability to run confirmatory testing or more complicated diagnostics.
At such a young age, puppies and kittens may be more susceptible to certain disease processes. Let us get your puppy or kitten off to the best start in life with health care planning and preparation. Your puppy or kitten’s first veterinary visit should be at about 8 weeks. (See forms page for the appropriate New Client paperwork.)
It is hard enough trying to figure out where your pet’s problem is stemming from when we can start with a thorough physical examination with or without some recommended diagnostics. Imagine trying to pinpoint a disease when the patient is nowhere in sight. It is detrimental to our diagnosis to schedule an appointment for your pet. This way, we can offer you the quality of medicine you and your pet deserve.
Our routine professional dentistry includes an ultrasonic scaling of the tooth, polishing, a thorough oral exam, gingival probing, fluoride treatment, extensive dental charting, and a nail trim. For more in-depth and advanced peridontal disease, we also offer full mouth dental x-rays, surgical extractions when needed, root canals and dental sealants. Come in with your pet anytime to find out your pet’s dental score! We can also provide you with the tools to practice good oral health care for your pet at home.
Proper nutrition will lengthen and enrich your pet’s life! We currently carry and recommend Hills Science Diet / Prescription Diet as well as Royal Canin. Whether it is to manage health concerns, nurture a growing puppy or kitten, or to get your pet slim and trim for beach season! We can help you to determine what diet is right for your animal companion with a nutritional consultation.
See Physical Rehabilitation page for more information.
We are the only hospital in the region to offer advanced imaging using MRI and CT scan!
There are so many great reasons to spay or neuter your pet. Spaying or neutering may decrease your pet’s risk of certain types of cancer, prostate problems, or infection. It may also deter some pets from developing certain unwanted behavioral habits like urine marking, running away, or aggression. Lastly, spaying and neutering your pet helps to minimize pet overpopulation. This surgery is not recommended for puppies and kittens younger than 6 months of age.
Disk disease is diagnosed using MRI. Disk and spinal problems can often be surgically corrected. Schedule a consultation with us today!
